The ReVisioned Life® Process

The ReVisioned Life® Process

In this intuitive reading that empowers self inquiry, the ReVisioned Life process uses both image and word. Their synergy reveals new openings and direction to guide you through life challenges. The ReVisioned Life Portrait that Katherine Paras creates for you becomes your doorway to answers already germinating within your unanswered question. After you send Katherine Paras your unanswered question in a sealed envelope, she holds it on her person and paints. Image and intuitive perception coalesce. What emerges may be a ‘landscape’ that illuminates the territory of your unanswered question. Or aspects of the interior self may emerge as a ‘portrait’.

When the painting is complete, Paras opens the envelope and reads your question. She then sends you the painting. Enclosed with the painting is a written summary that describes the painting’s unfoldment as it relates to your question. Optional is a telephone consultation to explore yet more deeply what the focus your self inquiry and that of the ReVisioned Life Portrait synergistically reveal, clarifying new directions for growth and learning.

In Katherine Paras’ words:

Images, impressions, and questions intuitively emerge as I hold your question, contained within its sealed envelope, either in my hand or in the chest pocket of my painting smock. The resulting ReVisioned Life ‘portrait’ explores the territory of your unanswered question. When the painting is finished, I open the envelope and read your question.

My task as artist is to open to the essence of your question and its inner landscapes. As I open to this essence, I invite related images, impressions, and questions to find a home in words and visual imagery. This is a practice of consciously opening to the realities of another person who is not physically present to me and, most frequently unknown to me. It is grounded in a simple understanding of the profound interconnectedness of all life.

This understanding—and mystery—has been described by many people in many, different ways. When asked by a student, “How are we to treat others?” spiritual master Ramana Maharshi responded succinctly. “There are no others.”

Jesus of Nazareth once said, “Let the person who has not sinned throw the first stone.” Mathematician and meteorologist Edward Lorenz described the butterfly effect in his conference presentation entitled: “Does the flap of a butterfly’s wings in Brazil cause a tornado in Texas?” Physicist Roger Penrose and Stuart Hammeroff, MD describe our moments of conscious awareness as originating from quantum states in our brains’ neural microtubules. These tubules reduce aspects of the larger quantum field of the universe into a physical phenomenon within our brains. Buddhists speak of the “ten thousand faces of Buddha”, another way of describing this “reduction” of a larger reality.

As I create your ReVisioned Life portrait and the written narrative that describes this creative process, my effort and practice is to expand my being and awareness to consciously include the realities prompting your unanswered question. I invite you to read the narrative as if it describes your own exploration, both of your question and, perhaps, of additional questions contained within, or implicit to your written question. If you feel that a dialogue about the painting and the narrative would be helpful, you can contact me and we can set up a time to consult.
